BOTOX before and afters
Patient or Procedure filler text here.
At Aesthera Med Spa, we have a team of experts who serve patients in Pismo Beach, and servicing areas in San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria, CA. Our top treatments are BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® which are neuromodulators – injectables that smooth frown lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet. The active ingredient in these products is a synthesized version of botulinum toxin type A, which temporarily halts the nerve signals that trigger the facial muscles involved in creating lines, wrinkles, and creases. These products are by far the most popular neuromodulators in the San Luis Obispo area, due to their effective results.
One of the reasons our Botox treatments in the San Luis Obispo area are so popular is the fact that the recovery period is quite minimal. After the short treatment, patients can get right back to most of their usual routines and activities. Do wait for about a day before you drink alcohol, exercise heavily, spend excessive time in the sun, or massage the injection area.
However, you may notice small red bumps just after your injections. These usually disappear in less than an hour. Other minor side effects may include flu-like symptoms, neck pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site.

While Botox treatments take only about 20 minutes or less, the results are apparent very quickly. The first time you get a treatment, it may take 2-7 days for the results to appear. Those who have had treatments before will see results in a day. After your Botox or other neuromodulator treatment, your skin will be smoother and far freer from wrinkles. Your face will appear younger, but you’ll also look naturally relaxed, never frozen or done. These results typically last for 3-4 months.
Botox can be used to treat hyperhydrosis of the hands or armpits. You can use Botox above the lip area to create a lip flip. For those that have bruxism Botox can be injected in the jaw area to help reduce teeth grinding.
Most patients feel very little discomfort because the needle used during injections is very thin and fine. However, there may be some mild discomfort. To ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible, a numbing agent can be applied beforehand. After your treatment, you may experience some swelling or bruising at the injection site.
The effects generally last between 3 to 4 months, but individual experiences may vary based on factors like metabolism and treatment area.
To minimize the risk of bruising or bleeding, it's advisable to avoid aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen), St. John's Wort, Gingko Biloba, Vitamin E, or fish oil supplements for one week prior to your treatment. If you require a pain reliever during this period, Tylenol is acceptable.
